When the tractor
can't go on

Wet ground, a narrow treatment window, a canopy that has closed over. These are the conditions where we stop using tractors and start using flying machines.

Where it wins

Four conditions that decide it

01

Unsuitable Soil

When ground is too wet, too steep, too rocky, or when you cannot afford to damage the soil structure with heavy machinery.

02

Narrow Window

Post-rain disease pressure where you need to apply immediately, but the ground is too wet for tractors.

03

Closed Canopy

Late stage crops where driving a tractor through will cause unacceptable mechanical damage to the crop.

04

Foliar at Flowering

Downwash from the rotors pushes spray deep into the canopy, coating the underside of leaves effectively.

For arable crops — cereals, rapeseed, sunflower and maize — drone spraying works very well, and is worth applying with confidence rather than treating as a trial.

Pest Control

Pesticides, herbicides and fungicides applied evenly, with less drift and no operator in the spray zone.

Fertiliser

Liquid and foliar fertiliser, including at flowering when a boom sprayer struggles to travel.

Seeding

Broadcast seeding and granular spreading at 440 to 1100 kg/hr through S20 and S50 hoppers.

Greenhouse Shading

Shading compound applied to greenhouse roofs evenly, with nobody climbing onto glass.

Biological Control

Trichogramma, spread by air

The L10 PRO carries a Trichogramma spreader. These parasitic wasps target the eggs of specific lepidopteran pests very efficiently — and only those. They do not harm other beneficial insects, which makes them valuable where chemical use is tightly regulated.

Best suited to maize, cotton and sunflower, and potentially intensive vegetable crops such as peppers, tomatoes and beans — anywhere Helicoverpa armigera is causing intensive damage. Capsules are supplied by specialist producers, contain the wasps in egg form, and need refrigerated storage until application.

Target Pests

Heliothis

Helicoverpa armigera and H. punctigera

Loopers

Chrysodeixis spp.

Carob Moth

Ectomyelois ceratoniae

Cabbage Moth

Plutella xylostella

European Corn Borer

Ostrinia nubilalis

Trichogramma are effective against certain lepidopteran pests only — not all of them.
